Been playing Descent since 1E and this may be my favorite version after being always on the other side of the screen/table from my gaming group. This product just exudes quality and purposeful intent with every part of the package. This game is very obvious that its different from prior editions and leans hard into the coop play with the Overlord antagonism handle by the app. The sculpts are some of the best I've got in my collection for a boxed game. The multi level terrain and gameplay ends up far more engaging than one would think. The app does a great job of handling the book keeping so your group can focus on dealing with the threats and challenges facing Terrinoth. I would definitely recommend to game owners of having some sort of system to keep what's earned, in loadouts, available and not yet unlocked when it comes to the cards as it cuts setup time between session much farther down. Our game is over 150+ hours and approaching positive investment per gameplay hour even WITH painting commissions. The game slots extremely well into the same sort of timeslot we'd use for a tabletop RPG session while keeping things moving along quite well with all of us being on the same side. One of my most unexpected favorite items about this game is how well it photographs with painted minis. This game is beautiful on the table and is a great example of a digitally enhanced tabletop. As someone usually stuck on the other side of the screen, this is my favorite way to join my players.
