Easy to pick up, hard to put down

Played through the first few chapters with four players this evening, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Takes the simplicity of a trick-taking game like spades or whist, and adds a thematic and story element from Middle Earth. Those elements feel part of the game, much more than a coat of paint slapped on (although the gorgeous artwork is definitely one of the draws!). It’s cooperative, the gameplay is simple, but the fact that you can’t simply coordinate and reveal your hand makes for some interesting strategy to try to make sure all players reach their goals. Highly recommend for fans of card games, even more highly recommend for fans of Middle Earth!
