I generally love Arkham Horror the Card Game, but I play True Solo exclusively. This is a supported play mode for the game.
However, this stand alone scenario could never have passed the True Solo quality control. There is simply not a realistic way to complete the scenario with the amount of actions given in a round and the limited Chapter 2 card pool. I haven't even been able to win it with the full legacy cardpool either and that's with the Boon of Hermes. And I am able to manage virtually every other scenario and side scenario this game has produced, but this one is just different.
I'm sure this Scenario is fine with 2 or more investigators. But on solo it's possibly unwinnable, and has as high of a success rate as Fate of the Vale, or Where the Gods Dwell. So if you play True Solo, skip on this Side Scenario. The reasons that this scenario is punishing on True Solo is a mandatory action spent every other turn evading or fighting a 4 skill level enemy. Action Tax of running back and forth to the starting location to get a clue and spend it. And RNG of hoping to get cards that don't cost you Unscaled elite enemy spawns or unscaled resources you have to spend. This scenario is not fun at all on True Solo.
Great mini expansion, I think of it as a side quest between the larger quests. Artwork looks phenomenal and the playthrough is exciting and can be a little clastrophobic, (in a good way). Unique and fresh. Arkham LCG never disappoints. I'm looking forward to the next release.
Arrived safely. Great game. Love the challenge!
